I remember again why I love Walgreens

Walgreens

A couple notes first.
1. They have a buy $10 or Hershey's or Twizzlers, get $5. With coupons, this is an excellent deal. The Hershey's are on sale for 2/$5. With 4 $1/1 (4/18SS), you pay $6 and get back $5.
2. 4/18 RP has $1/1 Kotex U products. Use them to get these free(there is a $2.50RR with these this week).
3. Reach floss/toothpaste is $.99. Use the $1/1(5/16RP) to make these free.
4. Ecotrin are on sale for $2 with a $2RR. Use the $2/1(5/16RP) to make $2.
5. Cortaid is on sale for $3 with a $3 mail-in-rebate. Use $1/1 from 3/14RP to make $1.
6. Combos are on a 2-day sale for $.99. Use the $1/2 from June All You magazine to make them $.50 each.

Transaction 1:
4 Hershey York Peppermint Pattie bits
1 Rejuvicare supplement
1 Kotex U tampon
1 Ecotin
1 Cortaid
1 Luster White 7 Toothpaste

I had the following coupons 3 $1/1 Hersheys(4/18SS), 1 $1/ Kotex(4/18SS), 1 $2/1 Ecotrin(5/16 RP), 1 $1/1 Cortaid(3/14 RP).
Total was $28.03. I got back a $5, $10, $2.50, $2, $5 RR's and a $3 back rebate form(Cortaid). So, $27.50 back, making all the above $.53.

Transaction 2:
1 Kotex U
1 A-Z vitamins
2 Combos

I had 1 $1/1 Kotex(4/18SS) and $1 Combos(June All You magazine).
Total $5.27
I got back $2.50 and $2RR's
My OOP $.77

Transaction 3:
1 Ecotrin
1 Kotex

I had 1 $1/1 Kotex(4/18SS) and 1 $2/1Ecotrin(5/16RP).
Total $2.77
I got back $2.50 and $2RR's
I made $1.73

Transaction 4:
1 Kotex
1 Luster 7
1 Ecotrin

I had 1 $1/1 Kotex(4/18SS) and 1 $2/1 Ecotrin(5/16RP).
Total $8.12
I got back $2.50, $5, $2RR's.
I made $1.38.

So, for everything I bought at Walgreens, I made $1.81. And, my family and I will use all the products!

After Walgreens, I went to Jewel and used all my Walgreens RR on pop pretty much.
4 12 packs of Pepsi for $8
4 12 packs of Coke for $8, plus a package of brats.
Gatorade was buy 10 get 3 free.
There also were tear pads for a free 6 pack of Snapple, which are on sale for 2/$10. I bought one and will send in the rebate. I did this a few months ago, so not sure if it will be valid, as it is one per house. The dates of purchase are different, so I think it will come through. I will let you know.

Piggly Wiggly-again

Went back to Piggly Wiggly. Got 8 Kraft salad dressings in 2 separate orders. With in-ad coupon they were $.99 each. I had 4 IP coupons for $.55/1. So, the eight cost me $6.08. I got back $6 in cats for a grand total of $.08 for 8 dressings.

Piggly Wiggly

Piggly Wiggly

I was going to go to Jewel for cheese, but happen to notice the Piggly Wiggly ad. Glad I did. Here is how I did.

Transaction:

2 boxes Capri Sun
2 packages of Kraft american cheese slices
2 packages oreos
1 whole pineapple
1 package fresh blackberries
5 Kraft cool whips
5 Kraft salad dressings.

They had in-ad coupons for the Capri Sun($1.50 off), cheese($2 off), oreos($2 off), and dressing($2) .
So, the oreos were $1.69 each, Capri Sun $1.49 each, cheese $.99, and cool whip $.99, and the dressings $.99. To make it even better, I had coupons from the Jewel Make it/Take it mailer. I had $1/2 Capri Sun and $1/2 oreos, 3 $.55off c 5/2SS. I also had a $1/2 cheese blinkie from somewhere(?). The pineapple was $1.99 and the berries were $1.50. So,

My total was $13.92. I got back 2 $3 cats, 1 for the dressing, 1 for the cool whip. I thought I would get a $4 cat for the dressing, but I guess not. Even so, $7.92 for everything above was a good deal, especially since I got the fresh fruits.

The Pig may be a frequent stop of mine now!

Kraft

Kraft has some good deals this week, with the $25/$5. I am still figuring out scenarios. The thing is, starting May 30, you will get an additional $5 of Kraft products along with the $5cat. I will update this post as soon as I confirm prices.

Here are a couple deals using the prices from my Jewel. Remember, always check the prices. Pre-preferred need to be over $25 for this deal:

2 chips ahoy cookies
1 Parmesan cheese
2 100 calories nabisco packs
1 kraft dressing
1 jello

Total is $15.11-.55c(dressing 5/2SS)-$1 IP(100 cal packs)=13.56-5cat=$8.56

2 mayo
2 chips ahoy
2 100 cal packs
1jello

Total is $13.50ish-$1 IP(100 cal)=12.50-5=$7.50

Walmart

Walmart

Today I got 3 Johnson's q-tips, $.97 each. I had 3 $1 coupons. $.09MM
I also got a package of Schick razors, $1.97. I had a $2c, so $.03MM
I got 2 4 packs of Rayovac batteries, $.97 each. I had 2 $1 IP coupons. $.06MM
Total would have been $6.82. With coupons, +$.18.

Also, yesterday I got more of the Complete eye cares. I bought 2 at $7.99 each. Used 2 $1peelies. After tax, I made $.90, and have the product to give to my brother-in-law and mom.

Pharmacy round-up

Here is what I got today. I will start at:

CVS

I got 2 Old Spice body washes. They were on sale for $4 each, with $4 in ECB for each. I used a BOGO free coupon from 4/18RP. So, payed $4.49 and got back $8. Made $3.51.

I was also going to buy an additional Gillette body wash for $4 with a $4 coupon, so free, but they did not have any at my CVS.

Walgreens

I did 3 separate transactions each including the following:

1 Complete Muti-Purpose eye solution $7.99
1 Goody headband $2.99

Both are free after RR. However, there is a $2/1 in the 5/16RP. So, I paid $9.75 and got back $10.98. I made $1.32 on each transaction for a grand total of $3.96. Also, if you don't have coupons, many of the eye solutions had $1 peelies on them.

Also at Walgreens, I bought 2 cans of the Blue Diamond almonds. They are BOGO free. I also used a $1/2 from 5/23SS. So 2 cans for $2.49.

I was going to buy Noxzema razors. They are BOGO free. I had 2 $2/1 coupons from 5/23RP. So they would have either been free or would have given me $1.01. All the $2.99 ones were gone at my Walgreens, though. They did have ones that were $5.99, but still was not worth it for me, as I have a lot already. A good deal if you need them.

Jewel

I bought 2 Sweet Baby Rays barbecue sauce. They are on sale for $1. There is a $1/1 in the 5/23SS.

ConAgra $25/$10 deals

I did two deals today, as the ConAgra deal has started. It is unadvertised until Sunday. I probably should have waited until Sunday, just in case the paper had any good coupons, but I did not.

Transaction 1:
3 48oz bottles Wesson vegetable oil
5 Healthy Choice soups

The Wesson had a $5/$2.50 spread. The soups had a $2/$1 spread(which is funny because 2 weeks ago, the soups rang up as $2.80, not $2-good thing I checked beforehand, or else I would have been off). So, before preferred card, my total would have been $25 exactly. After preferred card sale prices, the total was $12.72. I got back a $10cat, making it $2.72OOP

Transaction 2:
8 PAM cooking sprays
1 Hunts pudding

The PAM had a $2.95/$2.50 spread. I would have thought that was not too good. However, this is where coupons really saved me. The pudding had a $1.90/$1 spread. My total was $25.86. After preferred savings, $21.36. I had 6IP coupons for the PAM from this site http://www.simpleanddelicious.com/index.jsp
making my total $15.36. I got back $10cat, so I paid $5.36OOP(basically, $.67 each, plus pudding)

Here are a couple more scenarios. *I am pretty sure these will work. However, as always, make sure you know what the prices scan as at the register first.

5 Wesson Oil. These would be $12.50. You get a $10cat back, making them $2.50OOP.

Healthy Choice soups are a good one, however, since they are part of the buy 10 get one free deal, and the ConAgra deal, I am not sure if you would need to buy 13 or 14 of them. I am not sure how the free one get rung up. Even if you have to buy 14, that would be $13(because 1 is free). You get back $10. So, that would be $3OOP for 14 cans of soup.

The Hunts puddings would work the same way as the soup, as they are part of the buy 10 get one free deal too. Buy 14 or 15. Even if you buy 15, that would be $14. You get back $10, so $4 for 15 4-packs of pudding.

PAM

Here is the site I found with PAM coupons. Scroll down and click on the coupon central spot. I believe it is going to be part of the ConAgra deal. The coupons will go fast, so print quickly.

Yesterday's deal

After solving(hopefully) some computer issues, I can now post again. Not too much to say though, yet. Yesterday, I used 2 $4 off Nivea body washes from 5/2RP. They were $3.97 each, so $.06 money makers. I also had a $1 IP scotch brite coupon. I bought a single sponge for $.88, so $.12 money maker. I did not get rich, but got some good deals.

There is currently a ConAgra $25/$10 deal going on, although it was not in the paper yet. I have read it will be in the Sunday paper. Some really, really good deals. Oil, cooking spray, popcorn and other items. I will post as I know more!

Hair care plus

Today at CVS I bought an Herbal Essence shampoo. It was $2.99 with a $2ECB. I also used the coupon from 5/16RP for $1, making me $.80.

I was also going to buy Blade 5 razors. They were $6.99 with $6.99ECB. None left. I asked the girl how they could be out already, and she said they were on sale last week too. Well, obviously CVS knew they were putting them out as free this week, with a limit of one per card. So, they should have restocked and/or ordered more, right? I was a little annoyed about this.

Remember, if you go to CVS, go to the scanner in the front and scan your card first. Coupons always print out. Some are really good ones to use for free/cheap products. None good for me today. Also, don't forget your green bag tag. You can purchase a green bag tag at CVS for $.99. Put it on a reusable bag and scan every day that you go. After 4 scans, you get $1 back.

Gillette and Old Spice body wash are free at Walgreens. Actually, if you use the coupon from 5/2PG you can get 2 Gillette for free. If you use the coupon from 4/18RP you can get 2 Old Spice for free. I might do this tomorrow, not sure. I have so many body washes that even paying just tax at this point for me is not really worth it.

At Jewel, Post cereals are $1.49 when you buy 4. You can use the 2 $1coupons from this past weeks coupons and get them for about $1 each. Not too bad.

Besides that, Jewel deals are pretty much the same as my last post. I have heard there is a good Kraft deal coming up and possibly another P&G though on Thursday.

Kotex

Just got an e-mail from Kotex saying they are giving free samples of their products. Just go to Kotex.com and click on free sample. You can get two packages per household. I already got one, and my second one is now on its way.

Cereal deals

I did two deals this morning. My first transaction was as follows:

1 cinnamon toast crunch cereal
4 cocoa puffs cereal
1 box Fiber One bars
1 box Suddenly Salad
Total Price would have been $13.69
I had 2 $1.50 coupons(IP-coupons.com), 1 $.40(IP-target.com), 1 $.55(IP-coupons.com), 1 $.50. So total was $9.24 and I got 50 box tops and a $5cat. Total price: $4.24

Transaction 2:
2 ctcrunch cereal
2 cookie crisp cereal
2 Fiber One bars
Total Price would have been $13.19
I had 1 $1c(peelie on Fiber One box) and 3 $.55 c(Target.com and coupons.com). So total was $10.54 and I got 50 box tops and a $5cat. Total price: $5.54

Not my best savings, but I needed Fiber One bars, and they are normally $3.35 each by themselves. My husband and middle child were out of Cocoa Puffs, and I have been waiting for a Cinnamon Toast Crunch deal, so it worked out great!

Suave deal

While I do not need any Suave hair products(as I have about 40 already from a past deal), I did see a good deal. The shampoo and conditioner are part of a 3 day sale at Jewel for $.59. There is a Target coupon for $1 when you buy 2 Suave hair products. So, 2 would only cost you about $.20.

A trifecta

Today I started by going to1 Wal-Mart, as I needed baby food. While there, I got a couple of Johnson's 30 count cotton swabs. They were $.97 each and I had 2 $1 off coupons. Total price, +.06. I then got a Banquet family size meal. It was $2.28. I had a $1.50 off coupon. So, $.78 I have a rebate form for a free Banquet meal, so I will get back $2.28 from that. So, I made $1.50. Don't know how good these are, but a nice start of my day.

Next, on to McDonald's for some free apple dippers(with Valentine's Friendship Pack again).

My last stop was Jewel. I checked various prices and was only able to do one deal today. I bought 7 Suddenly Salad boxes. They are a part of the GM spend $20/$5 deal. The original price of the boxes is $2.95. Sale price, $1. Good deal right there. However, to make this a better deal, and moneymaker, I bought the 7 boxes(which pre-preferred price would be over the $20 I needed). I had 7 $.40 coupons, which I got from Target's website, coupons.com and Betty Crocker's website). So, I would have paid $7 and got $5 back. Pretty good. However, with my coupons, I paid $4.20OOP and got back a $5 cat, earning me $.80 and the pasta salads. I see barbeques in my future.

I was hoping to do some cereal deals, however, the prices were not as they are in the ad, which is usually the case. I will figure those out later today and see what I can get. I really want some Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Happy Wednesday

I get the newspaper ads on Wednesdays and Sundays. I am not ashamed to admit, I get excited! Today I was very happy to see that Jewel is having a General Mills $20/$5 with 50 bonus box tops. Now, it is time to work the numbers. I will go to Jewel tomorrow and scout out the regular prices to see what my best options are. I printed out a bunch of Betty Crocker coupons, as well as cereal and granola bars. Tomorrow should be a good day. I will let you know.

Today's saving event/May 12, 2010

Today I went to McDonald's and got a free chocolate milk, thanks to the Valentine's Friendship pack.
